SoCal Social Wrap Up and SWAG GIVEAWAY! - CLOSED

A couple Saturday's ago, I was soaking up the SoCal sun (ah, home sweet home) at the SoCal Social. Beverly of Flamingo Toes, Vivienne of The V-Spot and myself had worked for months to put this soiree together. We came up with a fun and unique idea that worked out fabulously! We wanted something fun and different and in the end,
I believe we achieved that goal. 

(Just in case you are keeping track this is the first event I have been to that I promised a recap of and have actually delivered! About time, eh!)

I must say that an event like this is not possible without major planning, cooperation, and IDEAS...and Sponsors. Working with Viv and Bev was awesome and we had the most generous sponsors. Here is a sneak peek of what you could win!

Viv and Bev scouted for a location (as for the moment I do not live in SoCal...but my heart is there) and came up with Old Town Orange, along with the idea of a fun swag walk - a great way to see the AMAZING collection of shops here and a casual way for groups of bloggers to get acquainted.

We provided each blogger with a map and a FAB canvas shopping bag courtesy of Canvas Corp - they seemed to naturally form groups and off they went.

I spent with most time with Tasha of Frugalicious Me - 2 tall blondes take the O.C.!

I started out like gang busters with my photos and then got a little caught up in the shopping! Here are some of the highlights...that I managed to capture on film (you can read other recaps by heading over the the recap post where everyone has the posts linked up).

It was fun! When the shopping and swagging was done we headed over to The Filling Station for a late lunch, mingling and chatting, and a FUN photo booth courtesy of Shutter Nonsense.

One of the many highlights of the day was the fact that author, designer, crafter, TV personality and all around cool guy Mark Montano joined us for the day and after lunch we got to grill him with Q and A - just kidding no grilling - he was awesome offering advice and inspiration and then we each received a copy of his new book The Big Ass Book of Crafts 2 - autographed no less.

And, just when you think it does not get better...IT DOES!

The Heavenly Hostess invited us all over for a little cocktail party!

All in all I think everyone had a fab day and it was such a fun and unique way to spend time getting to know other bloggers.
