Before I sold my soul to Blogger (and Pinterest) I scrapbooked for fun.
Before I sold my soul to Blogger (and Pinterest) I scrapbooked for fun.
I enjoyed creating books to document my son and our families special and everyday activities. Slowly with time and life and another baby and then blogging, scrapbooking took a back seat. I actually feel very guilty that my daughter does not even have a book yet!
I was thinking and thinking about how to get back on the scrapbooking train. I do document the special moments - we have tons of photos and notebooks and Post It notes with the who/what/when/how things happened. But I really need to get it all in one beautifully organized place.
I had thought and thought about trying a digital scrapbooking software but put it off until recently when I was given the opportunity to try out the My Memories Suite. I gotta tell ya I was a little intimidated...but I jumped on the system and it was so easy to navigate and understand.
I have seen a few other reviews and you can make so many different graphic including labels, blog headers, blog buttons, calendars, and of course scrapbook pages. So many uses for this scrapbooking software!
This may just be what I needed to get me back to scrapbooking
and documenting our lives (regularly).
Here is a layout I made of a Valentine table setting.
Then I decided to start playing with My Memories using photos from a recent trip to Disneyland. My daughter is constantly asking to see the photos of the princesses and really we had an amazing trip, so I wanted to get those memories that were still pretty fresh in my mind on "paper" and chronicle this fun family trip.
Now even when I scrapbooked with paper I was pretty simple and straightforward...not a lot of frills and adornments, and I was happy to see I had the option to stay true to my aesthetic with My Memories Suite.
Here are some of the pages I created (now excuse the photos - these are all photos taken with my phone as the "travel camera" died 1 minute after we arrived).
This is my favorite page!
And here is my favorite photo from Christmas morning 2011.
I am also in the process of making a calendar for 504 Main to stay on track (fingers crossed). Here are a couple samples of those pages:
You can also take a peek at My Memories in action on You Tube.

I'm so right there with ya Holly! I loved scrapbooking but life seemed to get in the way. I'm so behind and now little Coop is the only one without a book. I'll definitely have to check this out. Though I do like making the pages myself. Then again, to make them yourself I have to keep all the paper and crap in my house collecting dust, right???
