Makeup...A Love Story and (Video) Tutorial #eyeslipsface

I have loved makeup as long as I can remember.
I used to swoon over the pages of Teen magazine,
just waiting for the day my Mom and Dad would say it was OK to wear it.
Finally the day came, and I was allowed to join a makeup club.
It was the advertisement in the back of Teen Magazine
and I received a huge shipment of makeup and
then smaller shipments after that...OH HEAVEN!

That love affair has continued, but it has been perfected.
(at least I think so!)
You can even tell me what you think...I did 2 VIDEO TUTORIALS!

I enjoy trying new products and learning new techniques and recently had the opportunity to shop for e.l.f. cosmetics at eyeslipsface.com.

Oh my goodness...what a treat!
I have seen elf cosmetics at retail stores, but honestly had no idea how many amazing products they offered. And, it just so happens that I was out of pretty much everything in my makeup bag...with e.l.f. I remedied that quickly and at a very reasonable cost!

I began my shopping experience with a list of my daily "must haves" for me.
The selection of e.l.f. everyday cosmetics made me truly happy.
I was like a kid in a candy store!
(Or a lady in the makeup store!)

One of my favorite features of the site was Get the Look.
You see a look and e.l.f. shows you all the products you need for that look and a tutorial!

Here is a little peek at my shopping experience.
You can check out the entire path to purchase on Google+

Now let's get down to business.

I have used mineral foundations for years  - I have flip flopped a bit - but always come back to the minerals and for 3 years have wore nothing other than mineral foundation. In my opinion they give a smooth even look. It feels light but has total coverage and I never have to worry about that ugly jawline/neck mismatch-catastrophe.

FACE
Studio Eye Primer and Liner Sealer

I definitely think the face primer and the eye primer is a must for my routine.
It really helps the makeup stay on and looking fresh all day long.
I do get a lot of compliments on the way my eye makeup looks, so here is a brief explanation...and be sure to watch the video tutorial to get the full scoop!

Mascara in Very Black

Now, take a peek at the video makeup tutorial!
(be gentle!)

1. Apply the Eye Primer all over the lid with a brush or your finger.
2. Use the e.l.f. Mineral Eyeshadow, natural to cover the entire area up to the eyebrow.
3. Use the "crease" color (each color is labeled) in the e.l.f. Essential Flawless  Eyeshadow
and apply the color from the outside of the eye to just past the center of the eye and up through the crease (you can do this allover the lid too).
4. Next, apply the liner color (dark brown) in the outer corner of the eye on the lid up to the crease.
5. Use a larger brush and blend in a downward stroke (from the brow). This blends in all of the colors.
6. This is my secret weapon...I take a small brush and twirl it in the Base color of the Flawless Eyeshadow palette. and then just put it in the very inner corner of each eye and "swoosh" it in (toward the eye) just a bit...A little touch of the same color just under the outside brow area does wonders for opening the eye too.
7. Use the Liner Sealer portion (of the Studio Eye Primer and Liner Sealer) and mix it with the liner color in the flawless eyeshadow. Apply the liner at the lash line across the entire lid.
8. I like to add some liquid liner in black on the very outside corner of the eye, top and bottom. It just give my eye a little boost and opens it up (remember I do not sleep enough!)
9. I finish it with a "Very Black: Mascara.
NOTE: I use a brush to apply all of my eyeshadow and I always work from the outside in.

To  finish off the look...

Add some e.l.f. Essential Shimmering Facial Whip at the temples...just a bit for some highlights.

And, of course, a gorgeous lip!
e.l.f. Studio Lip Definer and Shaper, natural/nude gives the lips a great shape and fills them in with a subtle color.

I also purchased the e.l.f. Studio Lip Stain, which also has a gloss on one side...so a swipe of gloss was a must!

And, there you have it a fresh, flawless day time look with e.l.f., #eyeslipsface
