Have I got a date for you! Look at how adorable this
Date in a Jar idea from The Gunny Sack is!
I love it because it is good for anytime of the year..a
nd it is something you could also give to your kids - my kids love mini golf!
Hi, I'm Tonia from The Gunny Sack and I've loved gifts in jars ever since my Pampering Gift In A Jar post in 2011. Since then I've also used mason jars for desserts, crafts and storage. For Valentine's Day, I decided to create a Date In A Jar series. Each jar is filled with small items that related to the certain date idea. I am so excited that Holly is letting me share my Miniature Golf Date In A Jar with all of you!
The idea is simple. Just think of a fun date, fill the jar with relevant items, add a trinket to the outside and present it to the person you are going on the date with. While out on your date, collect small trinkets, brochures, receipts and pictures to turn it into a memory jar!
For the miniature golf date in a jar, I put M&Ms (every great date must include chocolate), golf balls (I couldn't find any brightly colored ones so I used white), a mini notebook for keeping score, a pencil, some fake "grass" and 2 mini golf clubs. This jar could also include tickets to play mini golf, a gift card to a restaurant and a trophy for the winner!
I tried searching online for mini golf clubs to buy but couldn't find any so I made some using cotton swabs. I bent one end and pulled the cotton off the other end. Then, I spray painted them silver. After they dried I added a piece of black tape to the top.
For the fake "grass" I used a green scrubbie. I traced the mason jar lid with a marker and cut it out.
Arrange all the items in the mason jar and add the mini golf clubs to the outside.
